Subsidized Employment

We know that the labor laws make it challenging for employers to hire younger employees with little experience. These teens are often diligent, motivated, and eager workers, who just need a chance to prove what they can do. We have several programs that allow us to place a teen with an employer at no cost to the employer. These teens usually work after school, on weekends, or during the summer. The goal of these programs is to give employers assistance with work, while giving teens an opportunity to learn through a paid work experience. Teens submit weekly time sheets, communicate with supervisors and staff as appropriate and participate in a periodic evaluation. YES provides added support to teen workers by checking in with them regularly during their work experience, giving them and their supervisors regular opportunities to voice questions or concerns, as well as to give and receive feedback.  Some of the jobs are short term (6-8 weeks) while others are longer depending on the needs of the employer and the teen.
